Neah's spiritual roots stem from the long family history of Jesus lovers, movers, and shakers birthed from the Pyongyang Revival of 1907 in Korea. After receiving her Master of Divinity at Princeton Theological Seminary she served in Asian American churches and culturally and sociology-economically diverse churches within different denominations including the ECC, PCUSA, C&MA, and FM churches all ranging from 100 member to 4,000 member congregations on both coasts. Some of her other experiences working outside of churches have been in education, non-profit work, and music. In addition to serving as the Worship Director at OPPC, Neah is privileged to walk with people on their spiritual journeys as a spiritual director.
RACHEL KROHN
Rachel is the director of the Crossroads Community Choir and helps to lead music at OPPC. Rachel directed her first choir in high school as a student conductor of middle school singers at the Vancouver School of Arts and Academics, and has since directed choirs for decades in Sammamish and Bellevue. An accomplished soloist, Rachel’s true joy has been choral singing, beginning at 8 years old with the Melody Lane Singers in Yakima, WA and continuing in Iowa as part of the Des Moines Children Chorus’ touring choir. A fan of many genres, Rachel’s high school jazz choir performed at Carnegie Hall in New York City, and as a singer in the University of Washington Chamber Singers a tour of the Baltic countries inspired her to study the unifying power of song and the “Singing Revolution” of Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania. Rachel has long dreamed of facilitating a choir that fosters community and encourages joy, where singers of all ages and levels of experience can grow together in the collective making of hopeful music.
jenni morales
Jenni is our Principal Organist and Accompanist and also the pianist/accompanist for our Crossroads Community Choir. She grew up in the north Seattle area and started playing piano when she was eight or nine years old. The next year she started violin lessons and continued with both through high school. Jenni and her three sisters play the instruments to form a string quartet, so that is a fun fact. In tenth grade, Jenni began organ lessons and continued through college. A few years after college, she also picked up the viola which has become one of her favorite instruments.
Beginning in Junior High and continuing through college, Jenni was a choir, ensemble, and solo accompanist. Her maternal grandfather said she was the best at it (may have been slightly prejudiced though). She has played service music for countless churches and chapels, and has accompanied and done synth work for community choirs. Playing with others is a joyful experience for Jenni, and she is very grateful for this ability.
Music touches everyone in so many ways, and Jenni enjoys most styles, especially those with inspirational lyrics and moving melodies and harmonies.
