We're planning one of our more strenuous hikes for this coming SATURDAY, August 19. We will be hiking to the summit of Silver Peak. The hike is about 6 miles with 2000 feet of elevation gain. The trail to the summit has some minor rock scrambles and some loose rocky sections. Hiking poles could be useful.
We will meet at OPPC at 9:00 AM to carpool to the trailhead. Bring normal hiking gear, lunch, and water. Fortunately, it looks like it will cool down before Saturday! RSVP to Nancy by Thursday evening if you'll be joining us. Looking forward to a fun hike!
Mark your calendars for our upcoming hikes! We still need hiking leaders for September 10 and 24. Please let me know if you are able to lead either of these hikes. I can provide you with maps and directions.
