Thousands of years ago the Israelites wandered in the desert after being set free from slavery. Their journey toward the promise land reminds us of our own journey following God in the tension of the now and not yet.
As we move away from the celebration of Christmas toward Lent, this winter we will wake up to the idea that God is daily tending, changing, moving, acting, and drawing us toward His return. In these weeks following Christmas, we enter into a new type of Advent waiting where we continue to navigate our lives toward God’s promise.
